NOTICE – Contract Employees hired on or after July 1, 2011

All contract employees who were hired on or after July 1, 2011, and are new to the Utah Retirement System must decide between the two retirement options that were set up by the Utah Legislature (Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement Systems vs. Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan).  At the end of one year, the final election is permanent and irrevocable and remains in place throughout your lifetime.  If no election is made, employees automatically become a member of the Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System.  To answer your questions about which plan to choose, go to to the New Members section.
