Governor Honors Jordan District Scholar

Riverton High’s Andrew Johnson is all smiles as he meets with Utah Governor Gary Herbert. Johnson was invited to the state capitol to be honored and praised for being a Presidential Scholar. Just two students from each state are chosen to be in that elite circle of scholars. The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars looks at academic records, essays, community service records and test scores in determining the best and the brightest. Governor Herbert just wanted a chance to say thanks to a young man of which the state is proud  and to which other students can aspire.
