From the main office to the classroom and everywhere in between, PTA volunteer Stephanie Johnson is an important part of the day-to-day educational support at Elk Meadows Elementary School. That’s why this mom and ‘mover and shaker’ at the school is being recognized nationally. Mrs. Johnson is one of five finalists, chosen from schools across the country, in the running for a prestigious ‘Bammy Award.’ The award was created to acknowledge that teachers can’t do it alone and recognizes the collaborative nature of education— it really does take a village to educate a child. Stephanie Johnson is a finalist in the ‘Parent Group Leaders’ category and will be flown to Washington D.C. where the winners will be announced. However, we believe this dedicated volunteer is already a winner and Elk Meadows is lucky to have her as part of the school team! Congratulations on this well deserved recognition.
