It was a video conference call that connected Southland Elementary students with their counterparts thousands of miles away in a province of China. Parents joined their third-graders in Lay Kou’s Chinese Dual Language Immersion class for the fun and educational exchange. The Southland students were able to ask questions in fluent Chinese and listen to the answers from third-grade students from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. During the hour-long video conference, the class learned many new facts about China and made some good friends as well. Thanks to the instructors from Northeastern University in Shenyang for making this meaningful exchange happen. Enjoy a photo gallery on our Facebook page.
