Riverton High Silver Rush Begins with Emotional Message

Riverton High students celebrate the kick-off of Silver RushIt is officially Silver Rush season! The annual holiday fundraising event at Riverton High School began today with that declaration from Riverton Mayor Bill Applegarth. Students gathered to reflect back on last year when they raised more than $144,000 for Mitchell’s Journey and were reminded of all the ways the money has helped offer hope and healing to children struggling with Muscular Dystrophy around the world.

Then, it was time for the big reveal of this year’s charity. The 2016 Silver Rush will benefit Millie’s Princess Foundation for local families of children battling cancer. Riverton students met the families and some of the children who will be recipients of their fundraising efforts. Silver Rush season runs from Dec. 1 – 21. We wish these big-hearted students great success in their fundraising season, which will undoubtedly bring change to the lives of many.
