Blackridge Elementary students cheer during 'Battle of the Books'It was a five month-long competition for students at Blackridge Elementary School that amounted to impressive results in reading. ‘Battle of the Books’ is a reading incentive program that rallies students to come together in groups to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of books they’ve read.

Students and staff at Blackridge took the reading competition seriously with 318 kids participating in a total of 73 teams. In all, about 70,000 pages were read and the sixth grade team called ‘Trump Society’ took top honors. Each member of the winning team and the runners-up received a $50.00 savings bond. Congratulations to everyone involved! We hope your winning, reading ways continue.
