Congratulations are in order for a number of Jordan School District students who have been recognized as the best of the best in the Sterling Scholar program. It is a program that recognizes educational excellence, leadership and outstanding community service by seniors in high schools throughout the state.
2017 Sterling Scholar winners include Herriman High’s Marin Murdock for Business & Marketing and Andrew Meservy, also from Herriman High, who won the Philo T. Farnsworth Governor’s Award. Each of the 14 winners received a $2,500 scholarship.
District runners-up include Vanesa Barrett and Melissa Hansen from Copper Hills High and Quaid Green and Carolyn Scherbel from Herriman High School.
