Some students in the Family and Consumer Science sewing class at Riverton High School used their sewing skills to send a little love to students at the Kauri Sue Hamilton School. They were asked to make warm ponchos to protect the special needs students as they make their way in and out of school on cold and rainy days or in the snow. Without hesitation, the students said yes and got to work. In a matter of weeks, the students created more than two-dozen bright, colorful ponchos for the special needs students to wear. Kauri Sue principal Rita Bouillon thanked the sewing students for the beautiful ponchos, which she says will put a big smile on the face of every child who receives one. Great job, Riverton High!
