Some second and third grade students took the stage in a production rarely performed by elementary school students. They performed two original operas, written and produced by the students through the help and support of a program sponsored by the Utah Festival Opera called ‘Opera by Children.’
Students have been working on the productions for the entire school year and even wrote and produced the musical scores! And with a little help from their parents, the children also made all the costumes and props for the shows.
Each class performed their short opera before an audience for the first time last week. The second grade opera is called “The Case of the Missing Watermelon,” the third grade opera is called “The Invasion.”
Congratulations to everyone on a job well done!
