Students Receive Hands-On Experience in Mentor Program

Picture of students in mentor programIt is a program that extends education beyond the classroom and into real work environments. Several students in the Jordan School District were chosen to participate in the Ace Mentor program where they received hands-on experience in careers they hope to pursue after high school. This particular program helps connect students interested in architecture, construction and engineering with industry professionals. The industry professionals volunteer their time in after school activities inspiring students to pursue successful careers. For example, Mike Buell from CCI Mechanical and Travis Wilson from Layton Construction facilitate the program in Jordan School District. They led students on a tour of Layton Construction offices and the new Hale Center Theater currently under construction in Sandy. Students Michael Ger, Alex Plett, Max Fairbourn and Logan Twitchell participated and each received a $400.00 scholarship to pursue their education and future careers. Congratulations students and thank you industry partners for investing in our young people.
