Canine Cop Surprises Students at ‘School’s Open Safety Assembly’

South Jordan Police officer and canineSouth Jordan police had an important message and a big surprise for students at Monte Vista Elementary School. Sgt. Matt Brown helped to lead a ‘School’s Open Safety Assembly,’ sharing important safety tips with students about walking and riding their bikes to school and about stranger danger. Then, he surprised students with an appearance by canine officer, Zeppelin, and having a member of the motor squad drive his police motorcycle into the gymnasium. Sgt. Brown encouraged children to turn to police officers if they need help, stressing that police officers are their friends. Students were also treated to a bus safety video demonstrating the safe and appropriate way to evacuate the school bus if there is an emergency.
