Utah Senator Orrin Hatch took time out of his busy schedule to stop by the new Bastian Elementary School in Herriman. Senator Hatch sat down with teachers giving them some insights on upcoming education legislation. The senator talked about giving educators some relief in paying off student loans. He also talked about funding for education and because he sits on several senate committees, he encouraged teachers to reach out to him with questions or concerns. After meeting with the teachers, a brief tour of the school was led by Principal Doree Strauss.
Senator Hatch said he was impressed by the new Bastian Elementary, which is about to open and he appreciated Principal Strauss and teachers who took time to share some of their thoughts about the valuable work they do in education.
