It is an exciting week at Fox Hollow and Foothill Elementary Schools. They were selected as model Dual Immersion schools to host about 35 brand new Chinese Dual Language Immersion teachers who just arrived from China. The teachers are observing in classrooms and participating in professional development, learning best teaching practices before beginning their official teaching jobs in a number of school districts around the state this fall, including Jordan. The new teachers will stay with host families for about a month. The host families help the Chinese teachers acclimate to a new culture, find homes, cars and get to know the community where they will live for up to three years while teaching the Chinese language to elementary school students across the State of Utah. Good luck to these valued educators!
