As members of the Jordan School District Board of Education we will:
- Represent all school district constituents honestly and equally.
- Refuse to surrender to special interest or partisan political groups.
- Avoid any conflict of interest or the appearance of impropriety.
- Refuse to use board membership for personal gain or publicity.
- Take no private action that might compromise the board or administration.
- Respect the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Recognize that board decisions can be made only by a majority vote at a sanctioned board meeting.
- Represent and act in the best interest of the district at large.
- Give full support to board decisions, even if personal opinion may differ.
- Recognize and support community values.
- Value and support the role of the superintendent and administration.
- Encourage the free expression of opinion by fellow board members.
- Honor the expressions of individuals or groups seeking a hearing before the board.
- Express gratitude and show appreciation.
- Be prepared, on time, attentive, and engaged.
- Become knowledgeable about local, state and national educational issues.
- Seek to be attentive, thorough, and loyal to the policies, programs and procedures of the District.
- Be responsive to patron and employee communications.
