The Jordan Board of Education welcomes public
participation in school government. Patrons may address the
board by signing up to speak up until 15 minutes after the meeting begins. The
requirements and limitations for addressing the Board of Education
are as follows:
- Patrons must indicate that they wish to address the
Board of Education on the sign-up sheet provided. Patrons
must list their names, the agenda item or topic they wish
to address, and note whether they are representing themselves
or a group.
- If several individuals
are concerned with the same issue and share the same opinion,
they are required to select a spokesperson to represent the
group.
- Individuals
shall be allotted a maximum of three (3) minutes to address
the board. Group representatives shall be allotted a maximum
of six (6) minutes.
- It is the policy
of the board not to take public comment on personnel issues
during board meetings. Communications regarding personnel
issues should be sent in writing to: Board of Education,
Jordan School District, 9361 S. 300 East, Sandy, UT 84070-2998.
- Patrons representing
highly detailed or complex information are asked to provide
a written outline of their comments to the board.
- Patrons may
not address the board on the same issue more than once in
a three-month period.
