- Assure development and implementation
of instructional programs.

- Assure that qualified personnel are hired.
- Assure fiscal efficiency and integrity.
- Keep citizens informed about District operations and school accomplishments.
- Assure District compliance with legal requirements.
- Respond to and represent District patrons.
- Utilize recommendations from citizen and ad hoc committees and school
community groups as they relate to District affairs.
Background
Beginning with the 2002 regular general election, Utah law
required school Districts with student populations of more than
24,000 students to increase from five to seven board members.
Jordan School District added Precinct
6 that covers Midvale and a portion of Sandy, and Precinct 7
that covers Bluffdale, Herriman, Riverton and part of South Jordan
and West Jordan.
