One-time, Performance-Based Compensation Plan
Recent legislation has been enacted allocating $20 million to educational entities to provide one-time performance based compensation plans. Plans must be approved by local Boards of Education and submitted to the State Board of Education for final approval prior to July 1, 2008. In response to this legislation, a committee was formed to develop a plan on behalf of Jordan
District.
The proposed plan was reviewed and approved by all members of the committee. A number of measures of performance have been utilized and nearly all classified and certificated employees working in the district would qualify to participate if the plan is approved by both the Jordan Board of Education and the State Board of Education.
The Board of Education voted to approve this one-time performance-based compensation plan. Additional information on the plan will be sent to all schools later this fall.
The committee consisted of the following participants:
Frank Shaw, Chair
Barry Newbold, Superintendent of Schools
June LeMaster, Executive Director, Human Resources
Clyde Mason, Director, Accountability and Program Services
Hal Sanderson, Data Analysis and Utilization Specialist
Brent Burge, Classified Administrator
Robin Frodge, JEA Representative
Steve Davies, JEA Representative
Vicki Coon, JCPA Representative
Dawna Troyer, JCPA Representative
Shelly Davis, Principal, Butterfield Canyon Elementary
Tony Romanello, JEA, Ex Officio Committee Member
