Bingham High School Boys Volleyball Wins State Title

Bingham High School Boys Volleyball is the 6A State Champions! It was an all-Jordan School District championship match as the Miners won 3-1 over Mountain Ridge to take home the trophy. Bingham is just the second-ever 6A Utah Boys Volleyball champion after the sport became fully sanctioned by UHSAA in 2024.

The Miners were nearly unstoppable all year, winning their final 18 matches to finish with a 25-4 record. Congratulations to Bingham and Mountain Ridge on an amazing season!

Hundreds of Middle School Students Hit the Links Participating in Unified Golf Event

It is a program bringing students of all abilities together creating a fast and meaningful path to fun, friendship, and understanding. First Lady Abby Cox was on hand to help kick off Jordan School District’s annual “Unified Golf” event. It is part of the “Show Up for Unified Sports” initiative led by the First Lady and Special Olympics of Utah.

“Unified Golf” is an opportunity for middle school students of all abilities, those with special needs and their peers, to come together as friends and have some fun. The Glenmoor Golf Course was host to this amazing event. Students were all smiles receiving lessons in things like swinging a golf club, putting, and just enjoying the game and each other.

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the Unified Golf event one to remember!

Forever Memories Made at First Ever South Valley Senior Dinner and Dance Night

It was an elegant night to remember for students and staff at the South Valley School. When a teacher at the school realized many South Valley students were never given the opportunity to attend a swanky senior night out, she jumped into action. The teacher rallied others at the school and together they organized a beautiful Senior Dinner and Dance Night.

Graduates and their guests were greeted with corsages and boutonnières made by staff and then escorted to their tables and seated by a Maitre d’.

The students enjoyed an Italian soda bar while they waited for staff to serve them courses of charcuterie, salad, lasagna, rolls, and cheesecake.

A fabulous string quartet from Copper Hills High School provided background music during the dinner. Students also had the opportunity to take photos with an Italian backdrop, dance to their hearts’ content (with another fantastic set by DJ Max) and enjoy popcorn and candy snacks. Each graduate also had a photo memory on a graduate wall.

Congratulations to the South Valley staff who worked so hard to plan such a special night, create an amazing atmosphere, and give students a magical night they will always remember.
