KSL-TV Gives Riverside Elementary Student High 5 For Service to Community

Picture of KSL news team awarding High 5 to studentIt was a special day at Riverside Elementary School when ‘Hammer Harrison’ a member of the Harlem Globetrotters and the KSL-TV morning show news team showed up for a unique surprise. They were all there to recognize 6th grade student Thomas Gudgell and give him a High 5 Award for his commitment to serving others. Thomas was nominated, in part for taking the time to help out his neighbor who is battling cancer. Every week, on his own, Thomas goes to the neighbor’s house and mows the lawn and does other yard work. Principal Ronna Hoffman says Thomas is also a great role model at school.

Congratulations to this caring student with a very big heart. Enjoy a photo gallery on our Facebook page.
