Fort Herriman Middle School Students Learn About CTE Opportunities  

Student firefighter at CTE presentationExploring occupational pathways and learning about Career and Technical Education options was a part of a recent assembly for students at Fort Herriman Middle School.

Presenters from the Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) North and South campuses showcased the exciting choices available to students who are looking for vocational skills and career preparation.

Students watched a video about CTE offerings and heard from current students in many of the programs at JATC-North and JATC-South. Currently there are 23 programs that students can enroll.

Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and outstanding training from industry professionals, students entering a CTE program at a JATC campus can begin exploring occupations and take courses that can propel them into good paying jobs in the future. Some programs available include Computer Programming, Physical Therapy, Veterinary Science, Fire Science, Barbering, Teacher Education and Welding, among many others.
