Every year the Jordan Education Foundation (JEF) raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to support teachers, education and children throughout the District thanks to generous foundation donors. What you might not know is that students are stepping up to help support the important work of the JEF as well.
This year students at six middle schools and the JATC South went above and beyond to help the foundation with its ‘Christmas for Kids’ program. The program provided Christmas for 250 young teens in Jordan School District who would have otherwise gone without gifts over the holiday season. The students raised $11,610 to help fund a holiday shopping spree for fellow students in need at Gordmans. Other donors contributed as well, bringing the grand total to $25,000 raised for the event.
It was a day that the volunteers and donors will never forget and it made the holidays much brighter for some deserving students.
