Time was turned back about 75 years at Herriman High School recently as a group of World War II re-enactors and historians stopped by the school to present a unique program about the war and showcase memorabilia, highlighting this crucial time for the United States.
U. S. History students at Herriman learned about “The Greatest Generation” and heard some of the stories behind the items displayed by collectors assembled in the school gymnasium. Authentic relics, medals, uniforms and flags were exhibited for curious students to see. Re-enactors wearing genuine World War II uniforms from all branches of the armed forces talked with students as well.
The Herriman High history students were able to ask questions about the items displayed and hear stories about some of the heroes who liberated Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. Enjoy a photo gallery on Facebook.
