The safety and security of students, teachers and staff is a number one priority in Jordan School District. Recent tragic events across the country remind us of the importance of being vigilant and practicing safety measures every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School community in Parkland, Florida.
All of our schools have detailed safety protocols to deal with all kinds of incidents, and conduct lockout, lockdown and other emergency drills throughout the school year. These protocols are reviewed by administrative staff and law enforcement on a regular basis to ensure the safety of our students. Beyond these protocols, we work closely with law enforcement agencies to evaluate and make any necessary adjustments to security measures.
One resource we want parents and students to know about is the SafeUT Smartphone App. It is a free and confidential way to report issues of school violence, bullying or concerns about someone in crisis. We encourage you to learn more. https://healthcare.utah.edu/uni/clinical-services/safe-ut/
