Students Shadow Career Professionals in Fun Day On The Job

Tyson Margetts on the job in the Office of CommunicationsIt was a fun and educational day for 7th grade students from Sunset Ridge Middle School as they headed to work for what was called the Groundhog Day Job Shadow. It was an opportunity for the 529 students participating to explore career opportunities with family members, friends and others in the community. They shadowed in a variety of jobs including communications and graphic design, special education, robotic engineers, dental assistant, bio med technician, lawyer, senior editor, teaching, working for the Department of Health and many more.

Thanks to all the career professionals for taking the time to work with students and give them a valuable experience, which will help in making career choices down the road. CTE teachers at Sunset Ridge greatly appreciate the support of parents in this educational opportunity.
