It was a competition based on the television show ‘Shark Tank,’ and some Herriman High School students were in it to win. The DECA and FBLA students created an app called ‘Ask Manny,’ which is essentially a high school dance planning app they prototyped and researched. They presented the app before a panel of judges from Enso Rings, a local company, which actually appeared on the real ‘Shark Tank’ TV show. The three students, Edison Velasco, Peyton Williams and Maelyn Dougher gave it their all presenting to the sharks and walked away with the top prize. They will now present their app in another competition at the University of Utah for a chance to win $20,000. The students also took first place at State DECA and sixth place in State FBLA competition with their ‘Ask Manny’ app. Congratulations to these bright and talented students!
