FUN FACT FRIDAY: Looking for Participants in the First-Ever Statewide Student Advisory Council

Students collaboratingThe Utah State Board of Education has voted to create a 15-member Student Advisory Council. Students on the Council will provide suggestions and feedback to members of the USBE.

USBE member Linda Hansen said, “The Board makes better decisions when we hear many different points of view, and the students’ viewpoint is one that we have been missing. Their perspective is incredibly valuable.”

The Student Advisory Council will meet at least every other month to discuss how decisions made at the state level affect students.

To be considered for membership on the Council, students must be 16 and a junior or senior. The application can be found at
