It was a special day for students in the Fires Science program at JATC South in Riverton. They dedicated a fire engine on loan from Unified Fire Authority (UFA), by creating an arch of water which students pushed the engine through in what is called a wetdown. Then the students hand-dried the fire engine making it shine in the sunlight.
The apparatus is a 15-year-old engine that the UFA decided to put to good use as a hands-on educational tool, rather than retiring the truck or selling it.
We are truly grateful to UFA for allowing Fire Science students to have such a great hands-on learning opportunity with a beautiful, working engine.
