Oquirrh Hills Middle Student is Named Prestigious “Cooke Scholar”

Picture of Kyle AndersonKyle Anderson is an 8th grade student at Oquirrh Hills Middle School. But his 6th grade teacher at Jordan Ridge Elementary School, Frankie Walton, says she knew early on that Kyle was destined for something great because he was simply a brilliant and amazing young man – already a standout in elementary school.

It turns out others saw the potential in Kyle as well. He has been selected as a participant in the Cooke Young Scholars Program – one of only 50 students chosen nationwide.

The Cooke Young Scholars Program is dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students, the best and brightest from schools around the country. It is a 5-year, pre-college scholarship for high performing 7th grade students. The program provides funding for academic and extracurricular opportunities along with supplemental classes in areas like technology and the arts.

Kyle’s former teacher, Ms. Walton says he is a born leader, phenomenal writer, respectful young man and brilliant to boot.

Congratulations, Kyle Anderson, and best of luck in your future!
