When students at the South Valley School decided they wanted to do something to help feed the hungry this holiday season, they began by setting some goals. The first one was to collect 700 cans of non-perishable food items in two weeks. Well, the students worked so hard purchasing food with their own money or collecting food from family and friends that they surpassed their first goal in just one week. So they set another goal of collecting 1,000 food items and quickly shattered that goal as well. In the end, these caring and compassionate students managed to collect 1,365 food items, almost doubling their original goal.
It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved who found that by giving back to the community, they received a sense of accomplishment in return.
Great job South Valley School!
