State Superintendent of Public Instruction Visits Jordan School District

State Superintendent talking to studentsThey call it the “Listening Tour” for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Sydnee Dickson. She is taking time out of her busy schedule to visit school districts across the state to see first-hand the amazing work that is going on in public education.

During a recent stop in Jordan School District, Dr. Dickson witnessed Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and saw successful Standards-Based Grading (SBG) in use at Fort Herriman Middle School.

At the JATC North in West Jordan, the Superintendent was taken on a STEM tour where she was able to interact with students and teachers in programs like Veterinary Tech, Pharmacy Tech, Biotechnology, Engineering and more.

At Midas Creek Elementary School, Dr. Dickson saw examples of blended learning and then was treated to a tour of new schools under construction in the District.

Thank you, Superintendent Dickson! It was an honor to have you visit Jordan School District as part of your “Listening Tour.”
