When Herriman High DECA students conducted a school survey as part of a class project on financial wellness, they learned that nearly half of all teachers at the school don’t have a savings plan for their children and they don’t feel confident about their retirement savings.
So, the DECA students decided to organize a ‘Financial Wellness Day’ to benefit teachers. They arranged to have about a dozen financial experts at the school, volunteering their time to provide workshops and meet individually with teachers and other faculty members. The goal was to help participants become better educated and feel more secure about their financial plans and retirement.
Thanks to the volunteers and DECA students who came together to benefit teachers.
