It is a Herriman High School DECA project hoping to help put people on the path to financial wellness and having less stress in their lives. The project started with a survey, which revealed nearly half of all teachers at Herriman High don’t have a savings plan for their children and they don’t feel confident about their retirement.
So, the DECA students decided to organize a Financial Wellness Day at the school. They are bringing in more than a dozen financial experts, volunteering their time to provide workshops and meet individually with teachers, faculty and staff from schools throughout Jordan School District. The goal is to help participants become better educated and feel more secure about their financial plans and retirement.
The Financial Wellness Day is free and open to all Jordan School District faculty and staff. It is being held Friday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Herriman High School Tech Atrium.
