It was a day to say thank you to local businesses and members of the community who contribute to teacher and student success by donating to the Jordan Education Foundation. The Foundation held a Donor Appreciation Luncheon to recognize the generosity of those who support education – funding things like classroom grants, STEM initiatives, food for Principal’s Pantries and much more. Booths were set up to demonstrate all the wonderful things made available to students and teachers thanks to donors.
Welby Elementary School kindergarten teacher Janie Lauritzen was a featured guest at the luncheon. She thanked donors for helping one student in particular in her classroom. Andrew Godfrey is legally blind, but thanks to the Jordan Education Foundation and donors, he has a brand new Closed Circuit TV Video Magnifier, which helps him read, write and better participate in classroom studies and activities. Andrew received a standing ovation for the speech he delivered thanking donors for his CCTV.
Thanks again, donors! We couldn’t do it without you.
