Principal Amanda Edwards was looking to cultivate a positive climate at Bastian Elementary this year as she worked to create a new school wide-discipline plan, and already students are embracing the plan.
Teachers and staff worked with Ms. Edwards to collaborate on types of behaviors they wanted to see in the halls, classrooms, at special activities, in the gym and front office for a safer, happier Bastian Elementary School.
So they implemented a plan to teach students how to be Respectful Listeners, Responsible Learners and Safe Students. When students demonstrate they know the concepts, they are rewarded.
At a recent assembly students celebrated the new system with music and dance, showing their Bronco pride, and the faculty made it rain ‘Bronco Bucks’ for every good behavior in sight.
Way to go Bastian students and staff! Keep up the positive work.
