Utah Jazz Recognize Herriman High Hope Squad for “Doing Good”

It was a night members of the Herriman High Hope Squad won’t soon forget. That’s because they were honored as a part of the Utah Jazz organization’s “Jazz Doing Good.” In a surprise visit, Jazz players Ekpe Udoh and Tyler Cavanaugh showed up at the school to recognize the Hope Squad for working so hard to listen to fellow students, provide support and restore hope at Herriman High after a very difficult year at the school the previous year.

“What you all are doing is amazing,” Udoh told the Hope Squad. “It’s so courageous and important, looking out for each other, especially with what has happened.” The students received Utah Jazz hats and two tickets to an upcoming game—one for them and one for someone who they think could use a night with a friend.

Udoh also gave each student a copy of Nicole Russell’s book, “Everything a Band-Aid Can’t Fix” and an offered to work with the group in the future.

Keep up the great work Herriman High Hope Squad!
