He has a goal of one day competing in the Olympics and 9-year-old Landers Gaydosh is already proving he has what it takes to achieve that goal. Landers is in the third grade at Westvale Elementary School, but he isn’t letting his young age get in the way of some big success. Landers is on the Momentum Climbing Nationals team and he recently qualified to compete in the USA Climbing National Bouldering Youth Championship in Oregon. In order to compete in Oregon, Landers had to place in the Mountain West Regional tournament and the Divisionals tournament.
Landers was one of the younger competitors in his category at Nationals and he did fanstastic – placing in the top 30 overall.
Lander’s parents are proud of his accomplishments and say climbing is great for teaching and working through problem solving, self-awareness and perseverance.
Keep an eye on this young man as he ‘climbs’ to the top in his sport.
