Orson Colby is a 7th grade student at Oquirrh Hills Middle and when he is not at school you will likely find him at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City. That’s because Orson spends 4 to 5 nights a week training at the luge track where he works with a development coach for the USA Olympic Luge team.
Orson’s hard work is paying off. Over the weekend, Orson was crowned the National Champion in the Men’s Youth B event and recorded times of more than 60 miles an hour down the luge track. This is the 13-year-old’s second year in luge competition and he is hoping to one day compete in the Winter Olympics.
Congratulations, Orson! Best of luck following your Olympic dreams.
