He is only 10-years-old but a Southland Elementary School student already stands out as one of the very best athletes in the country in bouldering and sport climbing. Landers Gaydosh, a 4th grader at Southland recently won 2nd place at the USA Bouldering Youth Nationals in Redmond, Oregon. Landers competed against 49 others from across the country in his age group. Last year, Landers placed 39th at the same competition – so climbing to 2nd place in just one year was a huge accomplishment. Landers practices with Team Momentum in Salt Lake City and up next he will compete in USA Sport Climbing Nationals in Philadelphia this summer.
Congratulations, Landers. We hope to see you competing in the Olympics one day!
