Stacee Worthen Receives Statewide Recognition for Work on Behalf of Students and Counselors

Picture of Stacee with award and superintendentShe has been tireless in her work helping thousands of students and counselors in Jordan School District, especially during challenging times brought on by the pandemic. Now, Secondary Counseling Specialist Stacee Worthen is receiving Statewide recognition for her hard work.

Ms. Worthen was recently selected by the Utah Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) as the Counseling Professional of the Year for our region and as the State Counseling Professional of the Year. Her nomination stated the following:

Stacee Worthen continues to lead a large team of counselors by example, always putting the needs of the students first. She strives to train each counseling team throughout the Jordan District so that students receive opportunities, information, and support with equity and fidelity–a difficult task when you are trying to guide 100 individual counselors located at 19 different schools. Her fellow counselors know that she has their back and trust her to give them wise direction.  In addition to her regular duties, Stacee also worked tirelessly during the 2020-2021 school year to organize Virtual Classes for close to 10,000 Jordan District Students. This was a monumental task, and she was definitely the right person for the job. Most people probably will never understand the level of complexity that this task involved. Stacee, once again, proved herself as someone reliable to turn to in a critical situation.”

Congratulations, Stacee Worthen on this well-deserved recognition. Keep up the great work!
