Copper Hills High Student is Gail Miller Community Service Award Winner

Picture of MeganShe has completed more than 100 hours of documented service during high school receiving a Service Honor Cord for graduation. Now, Megan Astill is being recognized for her hard work with a very prestigious award. Megan, a senior at Copper Hills High School, is the recipient of the Gail Miller Community Service Award in the Deseret News Sterling Scholar program. The award honors a student for his or her exceptional community service efforts.

The Sterling Scholar program recognizes high school seniors “for the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership and citizenship in the state of Utah.

Jordan School District was well represented in the Sterling Scholar program with four runners up as well:

  • Madison Hansen, Herriman High School, Instrumental Music
  • Isabella DeJesus, Riverton High School, Dance
  • Mimi Tran, Copper Hills High School, Visual Arts
  • Sarah Lingwall, Mountain Ridge High School, World Languages
