Picture of Austin on podiumCongratulations to West Jordan High School senior, Austin Klingler! Over the weekend Austin competed in the Adidas Indoor Track & Field Nationals in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Only the top kids in the country qualified for the meet and Austin was crowned the 800m Indoor National Champion and tied for 3rd in the 400m. Austin is now the best 400m/800m runner in the entire nation.

On February 12, 2021 Austin broke the 400m state record with a time of 47.84 competing in a meet at the Olympic Ice Oval in Kearns. He is the first high school boy in Utah to break 48 seconds!

Austin plans to run competitively in college and eventually become a pro runner after he graduates. He is currently talking to numerous colleges and universities, some of which are the top track & field programs in the nation.

Once again, congratulations Austin. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this very talented West Jordan High student.
