She was up against really tough competition on a national stage that included both middle and high school students. Join us in congratulating Rebecca Mcquire, a ninth grade South Jordan Middle School student, who recently took second place in the 2022 National Chinese Speech Contest. Rebecca was the youngest in the group and did an amazing job in the competition, which was conducted online over the weekend. Principal Nicole Johnson says Rebecca is a dedicated and well-versed student in the Chinese Dual Language Immersion program at South Jordan Middle and Rebecca’s teacher, HsiuMei Pitts, does a phenomenal job coaching and teaching her students.
