Students Learn Nutrition, Geography, and History in Unique Health Class Project

West Jordan Middle School students in Kathy Howa’s health class received a cross-curricular lesson on nutrition involving English and history teachers. First, students chose a country to learn about their history and culture. Then, the students had to pick a food dish from that country, list the ingredients, and make a poster about their findings. Finally, students had to give a presentation on their country and do a taste test for the class.

Ms. Howa said the project was a great team-building lesson and brought different departments and parents together. She received several emails from parents thanking her for the experience of being a part of their student’s project.

Great job, West Jordan Middle School teachers and Ms. Howa, for creating such an inclusive and unique project.
