His principal Donna Hunter, teachers, and classmates were cheering him on from afar at Oquirrh Hills Middle School and the support paid off for 13-year-old Landers Gaydosh. Competing in Oulu, Finland over the weekend, Landers, a 7th grade student at Oquirrh Hills, took first-place (a gold medal) in the Youth World Champion Speed Ice Climbing event. Landers took second-place (a silver medal) in Lead/Rope Climbing and took another gold medal in the overall category at UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships. He was competing against ice climbers from all over the world, many of them older than Landers by several years!
Join us in congratulating Landers Gaydosh on his incredible accomplishment. We’ll keep cheering you on Landers, as you climb to the next level in national and world competitions!
