The Jordan Education Foundation hands out an award. Each year the Jordan Education Foundation receives hundreds of nominations from people sharing stories about hard working and truly amazing classified employees throughout Jordan School District. Narrowing the field down to the top eight is a difficult task, but this year’s winners have been selected.

FUN FACT FRIDAY: West Jordan High Student Set to Graduate With Perfect K- 12 Attendance

Picture of BrooklynWest Jordan High School senior Brooklyn Gaskins has taken full advantage of her elementary and secondary education in Jordan School District. She has worked hard earning a 4.0 GPA while participating in National Honor Society, HOSA, varsity cheerleading, service projects and other organizations. Brooklyn is also in the Dental Assisting program at JATC South.

What is truly amazing – Brooklyn has NEVER missed a day of school from kindergarten through 12th grade. She has never even been late for school. Brooklyn says dedication to education is something very important in her life. She has always believed that if teachers take the time to prepare lesson plans, students should have enough respect to show up and learn all they can.

Congratulations, Brooklyn! We wish you the best in your future education and career pursuits.

FUN FACT FRIDAY: Superintendent Johnson Joins 2019 Class of Retirees

Flowers being presented to a retiree. This year we celebrate and take pride in the many accomplishments of the 125 Jordan School District employees who are retiring. Collectively they have worked more than 2,873 years in education and we thank them for their hard work and dedication. Our retirees will be recognized during a special dinner in their honor next week.

Superintendent Patrice Johnson is part of the 2019 class of retirees.

  • Dr. Johnson began her career in education as a kindergarten teacher 43 years ago.
  • Superintendent Johnson went on to find much success in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada where she taught in the classroom and then became a middle school principal, high school principal, assistant superintendent and associate superintendent.
  • Dr. Johnson joined Jordan School District in 2011 and has been Superintendent of Schools for the past eight years.

Please join us on Wednesday, May 22 as we say thank you and wish Superintendent Johnson the best as she begins the next chapter of her life in retirement.
