About Majestic Elementary

Majestic Elementary Arts Academy embarked on an innovative learning path in the 2021-22 school year.  Music and Visual Arts has integrated into daily education, along with our current STEAM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math).

Music and Visual Arts are provided school-wide at no additional cost for all students attending Majestic Elementary Arts Academy. We are enrolling students within and out of Jordan School District on an ongoing basis. For registration information, please visit our website.

Majestic Elementary is located about 15 miles south of Salt Lake City in West Jordan City. The school community is comprised of suburban housing with some apartment complexes. Majestic patrons are anxiously involved in their children’s education.

The Majestic faculty helps students meet their educational goals. The school goal is to educate all students to high levels of academic performance and to teach each one responsible social behavior.

  • Majestic Elementary currently serves students from kindergarten through sixth grade and one Title I preschool class.
  • The school, which opened in 1975, has had self-contained classrooms since 1996.
  • All teachers hold state teaching certificates.
  • Several have master’s degrees and many have ESL endorsements. All Majestic teachers are working on their Arts Integration Endorsements.
  • Majestic is committed to providing learning opportunities to students of all ability levels. In the primary grades, math is taught through a “hands-on” approach.
  • Balanced literacy, guided reading and six traits of writing help students broaden their understanding.
  • Teachers work cooperatively in teams to meet the needs of students.
  • Teachers undergo formal evaluations on a regular basis to assure continuing professional development.
  • Special programs that are available to qualifying students include Resource, Guidance, Title One, and Gifted/Talented.
  • Students dress according to District standards and to attend school regularly.
  • Good behavior is valued. Majestic students conform to school standards of conduct, treat the building and others with respect, to create a good learning atmosphere.
  • The school has an excellent breakfast and lunch program. Free and reduced price lunches and breakfasts are available to qualifying students.
  • Majestic is a walk-in school.
  • School visitors are always welcome at Majestic. Visitors should check in at the office as they arrive.
  • Majestic has an active PTA, School Community Council and other volunteers who provide hours of valuable service to the school each year.
  • Each year our teachers attend hours of inservice to upgrade and enhance instructional skills.
  • Several of our teachers have been recognized for outstanding contributions to classroom instruction.
Student Achievement
RISE

The Readiness Improvement Success Empowerment (RISE) computer-adaptive assessments in English language arts (ELA), math and science, provide questions that assess students’ ability to apply higher-order thinking skills and better emulate real tasks students may encounter in education and in life.

Development of RISE assessments came through a joint effort of Utah teachers, parents, test development experts, and the Utah State Board of Education (USBE). The RISE assessment, together with the state’s suite of assessments in grades K-12, provide information that assists in determining students’ progress towards preparing for college and careers upon completion of secondary school. Due to the school soft closure in March 2020, scores are not available for the 2019-20 school year.

School Accountability Report Cards

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) issues an annual School Accountability Report Card for each public school. Elementary and middle school report cards have four main grade categories: achievement, growth, English learner progress, and growth of the lowest 25%. Achievement and growth calculations come from the RISE assessment for grades 3-8 and the Utah Aspire Plus assessment for grades 9-10. The English learner progress category score derive from the annual administration of the WIDA ACCESS test, which assesses students’ academic language proficiency in English.

The state’s School Accountability Report Cards inform educators, parents, and community stakeholders about school performance as they work collaboratively to improve student outcomes. Due to the school soft closure in March 2020, scores are not available for the 2019-20 and the 2020-21 school years.
