For the first time in school history, West Jordan High School is the UHSAA State Softball Champions! The Jaguars swept Salem Hills in the championship series, winning the first game 13-7 and the second game 6-5. Rita Tavita pitched all seven innings and had three hits in the clinching game, while Arianna Fjeldsted went 4-for-4 at the plate to fuel the West Jordan offense to the title.
Congrats to the Jaguars on an incredible season and for bringing home the first state championship for a girls’ sport in the school’s 44-year history!
