Daybreak Elementary School Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Students, faculty, and alumni gathered at Daybreak Elementary to celebrate the school’s 20th anniversary. The event included scavenger hunts, craft booths, and food trucks lining the sidewalks.

Former Daybreak students on the Herriman High School basketball team shot hoops with current students, and alumni leafed through yearbooks to find pictures of themselves from their elementary years to show to their children. Current and former Daybreak faculty came together to share memories from the last 20 years at Daybreak Elementary.

Daybreak opened its doors in the Fall of 2005 as a year-round school with four tracks. In the first year, just 300 families lived in the surrounding neighborhood and 80% of the students were bused in from Herriman, Riverton, and South Jordan. Now the school serves as one of four elementary schools within the still-growing Daybreak community.

Congratulations on 20 outstanding years of education to all of the current and former Daybreak Dolphins! Here’s to the next 20 years!
