Oquirrh Hills Middle Student Has Big Heart, Carrying Out Big Act of Kindness for Valentine’s Day

He wanted to make sure everyone felt the love of kindness and caring at Oquirrh Hills Middle School for Valentine’s Day. That’s why 9th grade student Ty Armstrong rallied his family, friends, neighbors, and anyone he could find, to join his fundraising effort to purchase a rose for every single middle school female student and faculty member at Oquirrh Hills, making sure they weren’t forgotten on Valentine’s Day.

On Thursday, with the help of fellow National Junior Honors Society students, Ty and his cupids went from classroom to classroom surprising unsuspecting, but delighted students and teachers with a red rose and valentine cards with messages of kindness to go with the roses.  In all, Ty managed to raise enough money to purchase about 700 roses. Even a school custodian was treated to a red rose and card of kindness.

Thanks Ty, for having a big heart and spreading special Valentine’s joy.
