Teachers and Staff Welcome Back Middle and Elementary School Students

Classrooms across Jordan School District are buzzing with the activity and energy of students as elementary and middle school students return for the 2024-2025 school year. High school and 7th-grade students were welcomed back to school yesterday.

Today also marked the opening of Jordan School District’s newest school, Juniper Elementary, in Herriman City. The school opened its doors to over 500 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. JSD now has 68 schools and over 57,000 students.

The school year ahead will be filled with unforgettable memories and continued student achievement. Welcome back, students. We are so happy you are a part of the Jordan School District!

Welcome Back Jordan School District High School Students

It was rise and shine and back to school for 14,826 high school students in Jordan School District. Today marked the beginning of the 2024-25 school year for high school students, teachers, and staff.

 At West Jordan High, Principal Mike Hutchins, Assistant Principal Noelani Ioane, student body officers, and cheerleaders arrived before the sun was up to show school spirit and pride live on KSL-TV and Fox 13 News.

 At all of our high schools today was the start of making new memories, new friends, and what we hope will be a safe and very successful school year.

 With so many students back, we want to remind everyone to use caution, be vigilant, and drive safely around schools. Stop for students and crossing guards in crosswalks and obey all the rules around school buses.

 We can’t wait to welcome all elementary and middle school students back tomorrow!

Community Comes Together to Support Fox 13 School Supply Drive

Thanks to everyone who came together to support students and teachers in the classroom. Fox 13 held a “Back to School Blitz” collecting school supplies like backpacks, lunchboxes, crayons, notebooks, colored pencils, and so much more. The community responded in a big way to show how much they care about students and teachers in the classroom. The supply drive benefited students in Jordan, Murray, Granite, Canyons, and Salt Lake City School Districts.

Jordan School District was excited to be a part of the event and we are so proud of our high school SBO’s and cheerleaders who showed up at the Smith’s Marketplace in West Jordan to participate as well. The students’ energy was contagious and it proved how much they appreciate the community and how much they are anticipating the new school year.

Thanks again to everyone involved for making difference in the lives of Utah students and education.

Fort Herriman Middle School “Back to School Night” is Big Success

They did a great job getting everyone revved up for a fun and successful new school year. That’s because Fort Herriman Middle School’s “Back to School Night” included a pretty cool car show. About a dozen cars were on display including a modified school bus, Model-T, Corvettes, and a Zombie Jeep.

The fun didn’t stop with the cool cars. Ross Rodgers was on hand to DJ the event, Assistant Principal Tim Heumann was manning the grill on hot dog duty, and they were serving up popcorn and snow cones on the side.

What a great evening and wonderful way to welcome everyone back and get students excited about the 2024-25 school year.
